Florence: Holidays in the cradle of renaissance

Florence is an Italian town that can be consider a real open-air museums. In the town of Florence there are many works of art that are indeed priceless from the historical and artistic point of view. The visitor can see them simply taking a walk in the old town centre. Ponte Vecchio, the Campanile of Giotto (Giotto Bell Tower), the David of Michelangelo, the magnificent Cupola of Brunelleschi (Dome of Brunelleschi), are just some of the wonders that Florence can offer.

It’s impossible to divide the city of Florence from the Renaissance, here in fact that literary and artistic movement was born from the heart of Tuscany and was able to invade, peacefully the Europe of the time. Then, the Tuscan capital has been considered a European capital of art for centuries. In its territory great artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Raffaello, Botticelli, Filippo Brunelleschi, made artistic miracles, the same as men of letters and science as Dante Alighieri, Galileo Galilei and Niccolo Machiavelli did.

We suggest to tourists wishing to begin a journey to discover Florence and its history, to start from the heart of the city, Piazza della Signoria, where you can admire the Palazzo Vecchio. From here you can go to the Galleria degli Uffizi, one of the most important museums in the world for the quality and quantity of works of art that are preserved in it.

Not far away from here, you can visit Santa Maria in Fiore, the Cathedral with its majestic dome; close to the Cathedral there are the Giotto Tower Bell (Campanile di Giotto) and the Baptistery of San Giovanni with its famous bronze doors.
