The third market of the town of Palermo is Ballarò, which starts from the area of Corso Tukory near the train station, and branches in the interior of the old town centre of Palermo. Ballarò is primarily a food market. You can come here also to buy the first fruits of the season. Here in Ballarò market during the afternoon, come those who make a little walk on their way back home after a hard day’s work, and don’t cook and then buy all ready typical dishes of Palermo’s cooking.

Palermo historical market: Vucciria and Capo

Perhaps the most famous of all the historical markets in Palermo, is Vucciria (that in Palermo dialect means confusion). It is, however, even the oldest market of Palermo. The Vucciria is located in the heart of the old town centre of Palermo. Long time ago the market was protected by arcades, while today it is completely open.
